Description:

Ruby Minerals, are composed of transparent red corundum, a mineral form of aluminum oxide, Al₂O₃. Its color varies from deep cochineal to faded rose red, in some cases with a tinged of purple; the maximum value is a pigeon-blood red. The red color arises from the alternative of a small variety of aluminum atoms through chromium atoms (1 in 5,000). high refractivity is characteristic; when cut and polished, ruby is an amazing stone, however, because it has vulnerable dispersion, it lacks heart.

Rubies had been discovered at several localities in Thailand, in gravels with sapphires and spinel’s; they may be usually of darkish color, regularly inclining to a deep reddish brown. Rubies found in the gem gravels of Sri Lanka are not generally of such top color as the Myanmar stones.
