This stunning mineral specimen features a freestanding Schorl Black Tourmaline crystal, elegantly perched atop a bed of white Albite. The jet-black Schorl Tourmaline exhibits sharp, well-defined prismatic faces with vertical striations, creating a striking contrast against the pearly, snow-white Albite matrix. Accompanying the Schorl are Smoky Quartz crystals, which add a subtle, translucent brown hue to the composition, enhancing its visual depth. Scattered across the matrix are flecks of silvery Mica, providing an additional layer of metallic shimmer. This unique combination of minerals, sourced from the renowned mines of Pakistan, showcases the natural beauty and complexity of mineral formations in a truly eye-catching display.

Description:

The name Hematite comes from a Greek word meaning 'Blood' which is derived from the fact that, when cut, the saw coolant becomes colored red. Hematite is one of the most common minerals. The color of most red and brown rocks, such as sandstone, is caused by small amounts of Hematite.

It is also responsible for the red color of many minerals. Hematite can be in reddish-brown, dark silvery-grey scaled masses, ocherous masses, silvery-grey crystals, and dark-grey masses. Formerly used as mourning jewelry, but today mainly for rings and necklaces. It takes a very high polish.
