Purple Scapolite crystals on a backdrop of translucent Calcite create a stunning and captivating mineral specimen. The Scapolite, with its rich hue, commands immediate attention, drawing the eye with its intense purple coloration. The Scapolite crystals themselves may vary in size and shape, but they typically feature well-defined crystal faces and sharp terminations that catch and refract light, enhancing the overall allure of the specimen. The purple coloration is often associated with the presence of manganese impurities, which add depth and character to the crystals. This combination of Scapolite and Calcite provides a unique and visually appealing display of contrasting colors and textures, making it a sought-after piece among mineral collectors and enthusiasts.

Calcite Description:

Calcite is one of the most common minerals. It occurs in a wide variety of shapes and colors, and is a major part of the earth's rock. Calcite belongs to the calcite group of minerals, a group of carbonates that are related to the calcite group of carbonates. They are similar in many physical properties, and may partially or fully replace one another, forming a solid solution series. All members of the calcite group crystallize in the Trigonal system, have perfect rhombohedra cleavage, and exhibit strong double refraction in transparent rhombohedrum's.

There are twomorphous to each other, Calcite and Aragonite. Calcite and Aragonite have different crystal structures. Calcite and Aragonite form orthorhombic crystals. Sometimes the crystals of Calcite and Aragonite are too small to be seen by the naked eye. Microcrystalline forms of Calcite or Aragonite may not be the same as the real thing.
